Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 8, 2026

Plantraft (plantraft.com) is a free, browser-based editor that renders PlantUML and provides Mermaid-compatible conversion where supported. This page explains what data is involved when you use the site.

1. Information we collect directly

None. Plantraft has no accounts, no sign-up, and no backend database. We do not ask for, collect, or store your name, email, or the diagrams you write. Your diagram source stays in your browser, except where it must be sent to a third party to render the preview (see below).

2. Third-party services

While we do not collect personal data ourselves, the site relies on a few third-party services that may process limited data such as your IP address, browser information, or cookies.

Google AdSense (advertising)

We may display ads served by Google AdSense. Google and its partners use cookies and device identifiers to serve and measure ads, and may use your IP address and interaction data to show personalized or non-personalized ads.

Learn more in How Google uses information from sites that use its services, and manage your preferences at Google My Ad Center.

PlantUML rendering (plantuml.com)

To render the PlantUML preview, your diagram source is encoded and sent to the public plantuml.com server, which returns an image. Do not paste confidential information into PlantUML diagrams. Mermaid previews are rendered locally in your browser and are not sent anywhere.

Google Fonts

The site loads web fonts from Google Fonts, which may receive your IP address as part of serving the font files. See the Google Privacy Policy.

3. Cookies

Plantraft itself does not set tracking cookies. However, Google AdSense may set cookies to serve ads and limit how often you see a given ad. You can control or delete cookies through your browser settings, and disable personalized advertising via Google Ad Settings. You can also review or change your cookie consent on this site at any time.

4. Your choices (EEA, UK & California)

Where required by law (e.g. the GDPR or ePrivacy in the EEA/UK), a consent prompt asks whether ad and cookie technologies may be used before any personalized advertising is enabled. You can withdraw or change that consent at any time. Visitors in California (CCPA/CPRA) may exercise their privacy rights through the Google ad controls linked above.

5. Children's privacy

Plantraft is a developer tool not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect any information from them.

6. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the site evolves. Material changes will be reflected by the "Last updated" date above.
